Welcome

The Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Streptococcal Infections (PANDAS) and Pediatric Acute-onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome (PANS) Program at Healthy Foundations Group is part of our 2nd opinion consultation program. This specialty program is dedicated to providing consultation services to children, adolescents, families, and clinicians to provide clarity and direction on the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of PANDAS/PANS as well as other encephalopathic illnesses that have an immunologic basis.

Our multidisciplinary team of professionals is led by Dr. Christopher Bartley, a national expert on the topic of encephalopathies who serves as Chief of the Translational Immunopsychiatry Unit at the National Institutes of Health and is a member of the Neuroimmunology and Immunopsychiatry Expert Consultation Panel for the NeuroImmune Foundation. As a group we bring together a broad range of skills, knowledge, and sensitivity to provide evaluations, diagnostic clarity, and treatment recommendations for children, adolescents, and adults.
At the end of the visit, Dr. Bartley discusses the results of the evaluation with the patient and their family (if applicable). Our team then communicates the recommendations to the primary treating provider and remains available for ongoing consultation and guidance.
